Yes you can just buy combs from Buddha if you want to. Also Genesis harmonicas, Sjoeberg, Blowyourbrassoff all sell them among others.

nastyold dog....

what you see is not a fault. It's intentional and I do it on both sides of most of my harps.

6SN7,

The website has been an ordeal for me. There is a member of this board that contacted me and said he would be honoured to build a website for me. He wanted exchange a few lessons and perhaps a harp for building it. I said OK.

He started building it but didn't listen to any of my requests for the site. He kept telling me it was the beta version of the site and he would fix it later. He never adjusted anything, never incorporated any of the ideas that I had nor were any of the reflections of my personality built into the site as I requested. I especially did not like the colour red and I especially did not like the WIN MOOOLA bit... what was that?

Anyway, it was later discovered that he gave my personal and private admin login info to a competing customizer as well as a few other people. When I confronted him about it, he lied. Then I showed him proof and he said he smokes a lot a weed and didn't remember.

Two weeks ago, there was a blow up on this board and he became part of the pack mentality and went in to MY web host with MY information without my knowledge nor permission and deleted the site.

If you have questions, please contact me privately.

Todd, I like the harp very much; It's the best I've ever played, as far as smooth even response. Outstanding workmanship.

Dog- The harp has that tiny bevel at both ends of the top cover. It is WAY too small and smooth to scratch your lip, and I have not caught a whisker in it. I don't know the reason for the bevel, but it is certainly by design, not a "fault."

Personally I don't care why it works it just do!! The bevel is in all 5 of mine also. I've never played anything this responsive and smooth from hole to hole blow to draw and back again. If Chris says it's suppossed to be that way then it is.

Nastyolddog that opening is the Marine Band Cover design.
It looks like Chris moved it back a bit and ground
it to reduce its contact with lips and mustache.
That what it looks like to me anyway.
It's so nice to hear how people are enjoying
a well made instrument. Pretty soon Chris you're gonna
be like the Filisko Guild with a four month waiting period if you're lucky. LOL

I own 3 Buddha harps and have personally lived in Buddha's home for a week to learn from him.

Believe me when I say this, his work is truly one of the best and needs no comparison with other customizers. I really believe he IS one of THOSE elites.

He is extremely picky with his work. Mainly how it plays and feels. If something is even slightly off or wrong about how it sounds or feels, he takes very great lengths to make sure things are fixed. I have seen him dispose of harmonica parts, never to be used again, simply because they were "not fair to the customer who is paying for a good harp".

I think anyone who actually does even a bit of custom work can certainly vouch for the fact that Chris doesn't play around when it comes to building quality custom harps.
