Be very careful with the vids from that site.

Buddha - could you give a few more details please? Have you spotted lots of dodgy things? ---------- "You will never get every possible thing out of an instrument, but the instrument will get every possible thing out of you" - Ray Charles.

He's VERY heavy handed and imprecise in his work. There are a few things that are OK but a lot of it is off. Most people are going to watch and copy what he does and it's going to create some very bad habits. It might make a good harp but not a great harp.
There was a big part of me that wanted to say nothing and let all of you guys screw up your harps, but I love the harmonica and genuinely want to help others so I thought it would be best to say something.

Buddha, thanks for sharing. I see what you mean especially on the embossing vid. When the ball falls out of the reed slot he seems to just slam it back in. Is it also best to emboss from rivet to tip, one direction only in smooth controlled strokes? ---------- "You will never get every possible thing out of an instrument, but the instrument will get every possible thing out of you" - Ray Charles.

Anyone else out there not getting the vids? All I see is the embed code and that doesn't look quite right. Maybe it's my setup but I can normally view most things OK.
DON'T WORRY.
If anyone else can't see them just search overblow.com on YouTube and they are all there.

Having watched a couple of the vids, I was expecting to see someone working with the precision and delicacy of a watchmaker/brain surgeon. Buddha is dead right. Gonna be a lot of reedplates flung into waste bins. Oh Dear.

The videos are good at showing you what a technique is, but not how to do it very well. There isn't much theory explaining why to do some of those things as well. ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi

I started the thread from Uni, and hadn't actually seen the vids. And I have to agree with the above posts. You can literally hear the fractured metal... eww makes me cringe. Thanks Buddha, for the warning.

Hah, lol. Well, you can't fight about preferences.. Wait for IE10 and it'll finally be fully compatible. EDIT: let me correct that... it will never be fully compatible... Go with firefox! ;)
