I had known that KW was coming to SLO town, but did not know the line-up. Here goes:
Bass - Larry Taylor, drums - Richard Inness ( though Fido DeLa Parra is also likely to be around ), Guitar - Billy Flynn, and here's what's fun for me... on keys will be an old friend - Barrelhouse Chuck!
Haven't seen Chuck in five years since I moved.

Mark this on your calendar if you're anywhere close, as these are always great shows.
It is sponsored by the San Luis Obispo Blues Society ( second oldest in the nation ).

OK,

Kim Wilson,

A loaded blues lineup

all in the city with the best climate in North America.

How the hell does it always happen where I am not ??
Damn, I blame my parents.

Will do BBQ!

I'm anxious to see what rig Kim will use.
It always seems to be different, and always sounds terrific.
Being so close to home ( Santa Barbara), I bet he has one of his personal faves.

Barrelhouse Chuck is one of the finest old school piano players around. He's a great guy! This may be worth a couple hundred mile road trip.

If anyone would like to hear this line-up, a similar cast is on CD - Rhythm Room Blues, tracks 1 & 13, only with Rusty Zinn added and minus my pal "House".

#1 "Eyesight to the Blind" is incredible
#13 "Five Long Years" was better on Kim's Blues imo.
