I am quite surprised that our US and Canadian brethren on this forum have not posted in amazement. Perhaps when they saw the prices they all fainted. Got any smelling salts?lol.

It breaks my heart when I have to buy new reedplates for my suzukis. I can't remember the last time I bought a whole new harmonica. Back in 1999 I was quite experimental, but now, at those prices, there is no way I'm going to jump in and try something new. I'd like to try a Manji, but at 54 quid a harp it would have to be 500% better than my MR350s after I've worked on them and I doubt that would be the case. I've read alot of unhappy reports about the Manji since its release.

One of these days I will take the plunge on a Buddha Harp because I haven't heard one bad thing about those customs and I know already from the reputation that it'll be a dream to play and well worth the money.

It's official...British prices make me cry!

Hobgoblin Music in London has the best prices I've seen in the UK - at least as good as Harmonicas Direct and without postage costs.

I've made the decision to only buy Marine Bands, and when I can afford to, a custom.

It's too expensive to try anything else in the UK, and really, by most reports, none of the options seem particularly worth it.

You guys don't have it so bad!

In Oz the best prices are:-

Manji AU$66 = US$58.75 = EUR43.25 = GBP38.45

Crossover AU$85 = US$75.60 = EUR55.67 = GBP49.50

Have not seen a Seydel harp in Oz ie none in the stores and none advertised. Interesting that the Crossover is less expensive than the Manji in UK & US?

It used to be worthwhile ordering online from the US a few years ago but now the cost of shipping nullifies any savings unless buying a large quantity.

I have a Manji which I got 3 months ago and I received a Crossover today. Both are nice harps but impossible to compare ie like apples and oranges as the Manji is a C and Crossover an Ab.

Yes, we've got free health care, and we order our harps from the US to get them cheaper... Life is soooo easy.
Apart from cases of extreme emergency, I have never bought a harp in Europe (Harponline being an exception ; I love them).
What I don't get is the price policies of Hohner, Suzuki, Seydel and the like in this time of globalization. Anyone has a clue ?
My only concern right now is the dropping € against the $. Can you guys across the pond do something ? I know you're good at it ;-)
