thanks guys! I teach this population at the high school level how to be as independent as possible through a bunch of businesses I have put together- a school cafe, homemade bagels, pizzas (my Newark NJ Italian roots finally are paying off), cookies, brownies, horse treats, dog biscuits, bird seed treats, and a lunch catering business. I have struck the mother load here in central ohio. A 1/2 dozen businesses carry our products and we are making good money- more than I made playing music full time! This enables my students to learn the skills needed for work and independence in real life, meaningful to society, settings. Our dog biscuits get shipped all over the country and my backround with promoting my band/having a record label, has gotten us a lot of press and tv coverage. We will be moving into a complete commercial kitchen in a couple years. This is my other dream, the one that came to me to leave music full time. It is great to be able to help ones that didn't ask to be born of a lifelong struggle with this world. I learn more from my students about love, caring, trust, forgiveness, joy, and artistic freedom, than I have from any "normal" people. They love music like no others too. If you ever want to have a totally interactive audience, go play to this population. hi toddlgreene: Judy and I have been together 30 years and from day one we said no kids. I was doing music and there was no room for them. That is one huge piece of the puzzle for time to persue my dreams. Another is I move when the feet start talking. We moved blindly here from California, like we have done a dozen or so times around the world. Each time it gets better spiritually and finacially. The final piece is I am driven to do things. I have to do them. I became a one man band because I needed to hear drums and a band sound behind me whenever I felt the urge. If one goes straight after their dreams life gets full of adventures. What the world thinks of my music is an afterthought. I have to do it my way. That has kept me pretty isolated because to make it means making lots of compromises. That is ok because I get to do it my way and if people like it then that is the cherry on top. I could put together a real band, do the standard rig set up, overblows, fast playing, flashy guitar, and fit the scene better, but that wouldn't be me. In fact doing that would be worse than pushing shopping carts at walmart in the freezing snow because I would be physically holding everything that is my dream but the sound in my soul. Being yourself makes the world one huge adventure. My job is a lot like when I playing music. there are lots of breaks. I work 185 days a year. That makes for a lot of free time. Also if one stays present, in the moment, time goes on forever......... Thanks and maybe we will meet in the flesh someday! Walter, I'd love to meet a dynamic soul like yourself. I've read a lot of your stories on here and elsewhere, and they are fascinating! Keep it up-you are a great inspiration. ----------

thanks again todd! I have been editing my last post while you posted this one. I am terrible at editing and have to post it, reread it, and then go- man, that is typed all wrong..... and fix it. Don't expect much if we meet. I am just a normal Joe that follows his heart. Thanks for your support. I mainly keep my music and music story to myself except on a couple forums because not many people are interested in it. Todays world is more about right now and getting things as fast as possible without learning the root and where we came from. That is sad because what you end up with is a lot technicians and few artists. I am off to pedal my bike (on the trainer-snowed in here). Take care. Thanks Hobostubs! that is not an effect pedal. I do everything live. The only effect I use is some tremelo on my guitar amp and add some overall vintage plate reverb during the mastering process. It is my tongue and throat, kind of like gargeling mouthwash. I appreciate you commenting on it. Stuff I do like that I never hear anywhere else and I guess that is why it is ignored. You hear bits and pieces of it here and there, but I haven't heard anyone build an entire song around it. I also really enjoy doing lead guitar notes and lead harp notes at the same time. You can get some wild sounds going. That is another thing I haven't heard others do. There are millions of things to do with the simplest of sounds. Most people go right by them for the flashy, what the masses are cheering for stuff, and miss finding their own sound. I will check out your tune now. I will be honest and thanks for asking. I am honored.
