Hey John...that's a great post. I'd never heard either version of this song and they are both great. I really love the chord progression in it (if that's the right term).
Here's a real favorite of mine from my old punk days.
Yeah, I like both of those covers, and I would say that the quality they both share is that they are both interpretive rather than rote covers, and in my opinion stand on their own as unique, which me likey a lot. ---------- http://www.youtube.com/1shanester
Hi Jon, thanks for posting this. Nirvana and Lead Belly really great way to start my day. Oisin, didn't remember this one. Brings back some good memories.
Many versions of this song don't have any Harp, some do. I play this sitting in with a local group.....it is one of my favorites...
---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art. - Charlie Parker
And First Aid Kit covering Fleet Foxes. If it wasn't so hard to move videos around in favorites on YouTube I'd already have a channel just for covers. Maybe even just a channel for Nirvana covers.
