I had to put my 5 year old dog down the other day and I got the urge to play amazing grace, I would like to learn a version of this song as tribute to my dog.
I can play the basic melody, but I would like to learn a version with all teh bells and whistles.
Can anyone suggest a few versions to listen to steal a few ideas from. I am looking for something that is quite bluesey with a bit of rythm thrown in.
Thanks,Ryan

Go to Youtube and put in Terry McMillan, he did this song wonderfully. Charlie McCoy does this song with fewer notes than Terry did but still extremely inspirational to listen to. I really like both versions.

i think ronnie shellist did a video on it, also. probably gindick, too.
i would think "amazing grace" combined with 1 or 2 other spirituals, like "swing low", would be great.
