For many years, the one guy in LA frequently doing sessions, including commercials and jingles, was Tommy Morgan, and in the SF area, it was Norton Buffalo. Around NYC, you can add Rob Papparozzi, Toots Thielemans (also for his whistling chops), and Alan "Blackie" Shackner.
