We've got a new club member who plays a bass harp(he's a seldom-seen member of this forum). I haven't seen him at a meeting yet, and I'm intrigued by the instrument he plays, as I've never seen one in person. So, I did a quick image search, and found the photo below. I think the guy on the left is playing the bass harp, not sure what the girl is playing(chord harp?), and the guy on the right appears to be playing my grandmother's swag lamp from the 60s that hung over the plastic-covered couch I wasn't allowed to sit on. Insight, anyone?

p.s., from the look on the head-scratching keyboardist's face, he doesn't know, either. ----------

The guy on the left (Jean Labre) is playing a chord harmonica. The guy on the right (Maurice Bailly) is the one playing a bass harp, but I don't recognise the model. The young lady in the middle (Nami Miyati) is credited with tremolo and chromatic, but I'm not sure what it is she's playing there. The ensemble is called "Les Parisiens"
*EDIT* Found the player's names on Google, but no clues as to the mystery bass harp.

It almost appears to be either a polyphonia or even a chromatic but using a very specially designed microphone for it. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Hey Todd..when I was a kid , we had a couch just like that !!LOL ---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. The bass harps I've seen look like the one the woman is playing.
If you can track down some of Brendan Powers' videos for Suzuki, he's often accompanied by a bass harp player. I can't recall if they're on Suzuki's web site, but they are on YouTube.
