That's cool ! I don't know if he likes the same blues I like, but he seems to dislike the same : BB King, S.R. Vaughan and Clapton.
Good thing he'll be touring with Iggy and the Stooges (I heard they will play exclusively the "Raw Power" album, which is cool), but no belgian tour dates yet...

Does anyone know why he calls himself Son of Dave? Is it supposed to be a tongue in cheek take off on the Son of David (Jesus) name?

The interviews that I've seen say that his father was indeed named Dave/David.
In one interview he says "God and the devil are jokes, a puppet show," he reckons. "It's a damn fine metaphor, but the old monotheism, I blame it for almost everything…" So you be the judge.

His fathers name was Dave Darvill. So thats why he is the "Son of Dave"

Brandon - this is off-topic, but have you been going through any beatbox material in your SoD studies? Yesterday night I had the thought "where is the modernbluesharmonica of the beatboxing world?", and the following site seems like it could be a contender.

It's his father's name, as they say. There's certainly some deeper significance to the father connection which he doesn't discuss as part of his bizarre interview persona. But it's also part of his bizarre interview persona:
SoD: I think it makes a humorous blues name. It sounds kind of biblical and tough and blues. But it isn't, cos it's like... "Dave". Sounds kind of casual. Son of... Some Guy.
