Hey!

I just got enlisted and my friends bought me a harmonica (old joke), its a D-key Hohner Silver Star, I want to ask about where can I find tabs for D-key as I saw everyone is playing C-key ones.

Thx

If you're just looking to play tunes yourself from a tab, it doesn't matter what key your harmonica is in. Just play the blow and draw notes from the tab and you'll have music. It will just be in the key of D rather than C.

Now if you sit down with some folks and want to play together, you need to play in the key of D, so they will too. (There's more to it than that -- much more, really -- but I'll let someone else address that if you're interested).

Thak you for the answer!

Yeah, I'm only planning to play tunes from tabs or so, nothing like in a band or else, jsut for myself and if I manage to learn it maybe for the squad as well.

Here ya go. Hope this isn't too much info. Most blues would be in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd position(2nd for the most part on major keyed tunes), but there are many possibilites. Of course, this is only really relevant when playing with other musicians. enjoy.

There's loads of popular tunes on harptabs.com. Don't matter what key harp you use at this stage.

Ahem! If you find the squad get a bit pissed with the racket you make, you may want to consider a lower key next time. They are not quite so shrill and high pitched.

Irish tunes sound good in D.
