What do you guys think of his playing? I love rock harmonica solos as much as anything else. I dont know how to embed the video so if someone else wants to do it feel free.
Hemi- All you have to do for YouTube videos is look for the little box under the poster's name that says Embed and copy and paste the info into your post.
I don't know about the technical difficulty level of his playing, but it sounds good. I love Aerosmith, particularly when they are doing bluesier stuff.
I jam with some rock n roll guys and find that the songs where (harp may not be in the original, say), the small bits they do reserve for me are fairly easy, I can pull off via tom petty/steven tyler-ish licks.... ---------- Kyzer's Travels
I like Aerosmith, i know his playing isn't the most technical but i like it(he's also a very good drummer). I've just finished reading their biography and they were a crazy band. How Steven and Joe Perry are still alive is a miracle. Their a good bunch of musicians and Steven could be pretty hard on the band if they ever messed up on stage(even though Steven's been known to pass out and start fitting on stage in the drug years). Their Hokin on Bobo album is a good Blues record.
I think i read somewhere recently that Steven is back in Rehab again after all those years clean. ----------

We do Aerosmith's Pink as part of our normal set list. I put together a harp solo for our version. It's not very difficult to do, but the crowd always digs it.
I've always liked Steven's harp playing. It doesn't matter that it's simple... IT WORKS! He's the reason I first got interested in playing. I like the solo from "Milkcow Blues" from the Draw the Line album. And of course, the harp intro to "One Way Street" from the first album (featured a few times in this video). It's not very complicated, but I love it!
