Hello harmonica fellows!

Few weeks ago I bought a brand new Hohner CX12, my first chromatic. It sounds great but sometimes the windsavers sticks. Also, some of the windsavers are not completely closed and the tip are a little bit over the reedplate.

Is this normal? Any suggestions?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english!

Windsavers are always a pain. It's good to warm the harp up. Put it in your shirt, your pocket. This is to stop condensation. When they get really bad I soak the reed plate in warm water with a little dish detergent for about 3 hours. Rinse dry and there you go.

No matter which chromatic you buy from any harp maker, the windsavers will always be the first annoyance as well as the first things to go bad on them. Warming the instrument up is excellent, very sound advice. If you have a tendency to play hard most of the time or worse, all of the time, you also will be having saliva problems, which will almost make these problems considerably worse.
