Hi, all my harps are in storage except for my Manj in D. So, for inspiration, can anyone suggest recordings (youtube would be great) played on a D harp? Crossharp, straight harp, third position preferred.
Jimmy Rogers/Walter Horton: “Walking by myself” Paul Butterfield: “ Born in Chicago”. “Mellow Down Easy” “Thank you Mr Poohbah”, Muddy Waters/Paul Butterfield “Sugar Sweet” All cross harp

Also (less specifically) try playing with ANY blues songs in Em playing in 3rd on a D harp (maybe try E major songs, too), songs in A and Am playing in 2nd position, and songs in D in 1st position.
The songs don't have to be classic harp tracks, in fact if there is no harp at all it will be better for you to practice improvising in those positions. You don't always need to copy existing harp tracks; you can expand your own skills by making it up as you go...
Edit: how do you figure out the keys of songs? Try playing along!
