What is the best William Clarke Album to buy for study purposes? I've been using lots of octaves in my playing and want to pick apart some William Clarke stuff. I play diatonic mostly.
Thanks!

Personally, I do not have an opinion, but Ronnie Shellist recommended Groove Time to me for that purpose one time long ago.

For me, Tip of The Top is the best Clarke record. His tone, phrasing, singing, song choices, the other musicians, recording quality, all of it came together perfectly there IMO.

But really, there isn't any bad Clarke out there that I'm aware of, except for some of the live stuff where the booze was starting to affect the performances. But even at that stage he still put on a hell of a show.
