After playing harmonica for over 20 years, I noticed a cute pattern.
Move
2 for 3
3 for 4
4 for 5
To play minor scales EASILY,
Go DOWN 2 half steps for 3rd position, 4 draw or 1 draw for root
Go UP....... 3 half steps for 4th position, 6 draw or 3 hole bent a whole step for root
Go DOWN 4 half steps for 5th position, 2 blow for root
Example
Am
Go DOWN 2 half steps, grab a G for 3rd position
Go UP....... 3 half steps, grab a C for 4th position
Go DOWN 4 half steps, grab an F for 5th position
