Has anyone used any of the Turbo Harp modified special 20s such as TurboBendBX

I'm especially interested in reviews or thoughts about the TurboAx-S20

Jim does great work! I have purchased about a dozen harps from him over the last 30 years or so. My last two were TurboSlides, I noticed that Mickey Raphael gave it 5 stars on the website. I am sure you will be happy with any of his fine products.

Gnarly.......Thanks for the update. Have you tried the TurboAx-s20. If so, curious of your thoughts about it?

Yes, I have a couple of them, they are the ones with the extra reed plate “skin”. I have nothing but good things to say about Turbo Harps. Try ‘em, you’ll love em.

Huh, my post disappeared... I haven't played one of his Turbobendbx. I've played his Turboslide harp. Pretty cool bit of kit. I've also played with a set of his Turbolids. I think if I'd started on them instead of regular harps I would have gone with them. They are really comfortable to hold but there is a bit of weird muscle memory dissonance holding a harmonica with such a different shape. (They don't tend to fit in regular harp cases, but now he has cases for them.) They are really nice on the lips and give you really good sound projection, plus it's impossible to pick them up backwards.
I'd also add that if you ever take apart your Special 20s for more than just cleaning buying at least one set of Turbolids is worth it. Since they snap on they are great for when you are taking them off and on, like when you are adjusting reed gaps.
