i customized my own 30 years ago. I been playin in bars that entire time-
U will have to do some customizing to fit U NOT ONE THAT’S FOR GENERAL PUBLIC I cant play regular rack anymore -WAY TO LIMITING AND DIFFICULT
1] somehow u need to be able to adjust height and angle of harp in your mouth
2] should be a fraction above your mouth and angled down just a hair
3] “spring loaded” for quick change of harmonicas (PS u can change spring to yr liking) ( this allows easy bending- easy split tongue-or slap –on n on)
(most regular racks are too low and pointing up (not down like u want)
4] u want small pipe foam cover black—around metal on neck- use black gappers tape or black duct to keep it on. (helps keep rack stable
This video of , me n rack—notice at beginning
1] black pipe covering around neck
2] 2 piece of metal per side to adjust height and angle--- ( once I got it ----I super glued joint with metal fragments -to keep same adjustment) ( the only adjustment left, is at base—easy remove that way)
Here a u tube deal look at rack at 2 seconds and pause
THE ENTIRE TOP PIECE ,INC SPRING LOAD WAS CUT FROM STANDARD CHEAP RACK
THE PIECE GOING FROM ‘DEAL AROUN D YR NECK’ I MADE AND DRILLED -THEN ATTACHED TO OTHER PIECE Every time I play its ready----I simply loosen the base-n flip into place
I don’t like the way ‘hohner flex rack ‘ feels around neck---but i would start with that When ADJUSTED FOR U ----maybe super glue n baking soda ---in place
BUT LEAVE BASE ADJUSTABLE—now u can loosen base to put over head—and u wont have to adjust the other stuff
“BOTTOM LINE” ----DO NOT SETTLE FOR AN INCORRECT ANGLE---IT WILL HINDER YOUR PLAYING SIGNIFICANTLY
