Ended up in Chicago on a Tuesday and found a jam at Gallery Cabaret downtown. House band was barely garage band level, no set list, could not decide what to play next each time, didn't sound good at all but I was there and wasn't going anywhere as I had a hotel down the street. Finally I got up and they wanted me to stay for a while. Everyone was nice and the place was clean but I had to basically teach everyone how to act on stage. Damn, I am not getting paid enough for this.

Blues Jam on Thursday nights, and also on the last Tuesday night of the month - "Bluesday". Bringing of own equipment is encouraged, but you can play through the PA. House band starts off the jam. Go to website schedule to see if an show or event has been substituted for the jam on any particular night.
