Financial woes have caused me to offer this very sweet amp for sale. I'll send pics if you need 'em. Price is $1400.
This is a killer, super loud amp. It's in really good condition. Of course I would prefer to sell it within driving distance from Long Island, NY, but I'll ship it if need be.
Price includes a Tuki cover.
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING... The UPS store quoted me $200 to ship the amp to Virginia from Long Island, NY. Of that, about $60 was for them to professionally pack the amp. So right about $140 was for shipping and $1800 worth of insurance.
THE TUBE LINEUP IN THIS AMP IS AS FOLLOWS: Ruby 5AR4C rectifier tube Sovtek 5881WXT power tubes (x2) JJ ECC 31 Sovtek 12AX7WC I mention the tube lineup because the HarpGear website mentions slightly different tubes.
PLEASE NOTE: This amp has a Fender Bassman nameplate on it, but I still have the HarpGear one. Long story, won't get into it here unless you PM me.
The tweed is in great condition and the amp looks awesome. The autograph in the cabinet is from Jason Ricci... the previous owner loaned the amp to him for a gig in Maine or something like that.
######################################################## From the Harp Gear website:
"The HarpGear 50 is HarpGear's next step in building a full sized amp which achieves 50W using a fixed bias 6L6 setup. This is the amp that Jason Ricci has recently endorsed and now uses exclusively on the road. This amp is setup specifically for harmonica and uses all of our standard harp amp modifications we have become known for. This amp was designed to add flexibility to our amp line and allow you to play in any size venue with the confidence of knowing you won't need to mic the amp or connect the line out to the sound board. The standard HarpGear 50 uses four (4) customer Weber Red Alnico 10" straight cone 30W 8 ohm speakers with one 12AX7 and one 12AX7WC preamp tube 2- 6L6 power tubes and 1-5AR4 rectifier tube. The amp has three adjustable tone controls being Bass, Middle and Treble. This amp has an oversized custom wound output transformer like the other amps and even more great bass to really accentuate those low notes while you're playing. The tube configuration for this amp is as follows:(1)5AR4 (2) 6L6 power tubes (1) 12AX7WC (1) 12AX7 preamp tube. This amp is 23"H X 24"W x 10.5"D and weighs 45 lbs. This amp will generate 50 watts of power which comes across very loud. This amp is available in heavily lacquered tweed." Price: $1880 120V US / Canada $1920 240V Export All HarpGear Amplifiers include: -Solid pine finger jointed cabinet. -Solid 3/8" Baltic birch baffle for the best sound reproduction. The baffle acts just like the sound board on a guitar and unlike particle board baffles which absorb the tone the Baltic birch reproduces your tone accurately. -High quality custom transformers wound for us for a truly awesome sound as well as oversized transformers to add more honk to your amp and give you plenty of sweet round distortion. -Mil Spec G10 Garrolite eyelet boards to prevent both tweed disease and moisture absorption common on pressed fiber boards which produces false capacitance and causes crackle and hum. You will not have that problem with our boards and they will last a lifetime. -Highest quality components including Sprague Atoms capacitors, Xicon Capacitors, Sprague Orange Drop or Mallory 150 tone caps, phenolic sockets, switchcraft jacks and custom transformers. -All amplifiers are hand wired one at a time with the utmost attention to detail. All component leads are straightened and cleaned before the are soldered to the G10 board. -Values of components are increased in key areas to make the amplifier more responsive with all the bass and crunch a harp player needs. -Weber VST speakers and Jensen vintage speakers. -An additional line out jack to run to the PA so you will never have a problem being heard over the rest of the band. You can still use your amp as a monitor to hear yourself while plugged into the PA. The line out can also be used to record directly into your computer line in or into a sound board. ########################################################
