Hello,
I can't access the website http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com from Romania. Do you know if there is any filter based on the country?
I have started to play the harp one year ago while I was living in France and now I have moved to Romania. I was using the MBH forum because I think there is a lot of useful information here.
Right now I'm on business trip and I can access the site again :) Can you help me on this issue.
Kind regards, roHarp

Hi roHarp - Sorry you can't get access. I don't know the answer so I'll refer this to Nacoran.
What are the symptoms? Are you unable to see the site at all, or are you able to read it but not post? When you try to access the page, do you get an error message e.g. an HTTP error code?
From what I've read before, there have been incidents where people haven't been able to post, even from individual IP addresses, and that's not been in the control of the administrators here.
FWIW Romania is listed in Adam's MBH stats, but from 2012.

Hi roHarp. It's quite possible that the IP address range in Romania is part of a blocked range. We have all sorts of problems with people from Eastern Europe being unable to access the site. We've got a few possible solutions.
The first thing we need to figure out is whether it's something we can fix on this end or if it's on your end. Usually I'd send a couple .rar files to help troubleshoot on your end, but I'm having problems linking them right now. If you contact me at:
membership@modernbluesharmonica.com
I can get those files to you. (I'm working on a way to get the links up, but my Dropbox account is giving me problems with public links).
There are a couple other ways to work around the issues. Our server host blocks some ranges of IP addresses because of spam problems. Your internet connection may be one of two different types of connections, a Static IP Address (stays the same every time you log in) or a Dynamic IP Address (changes every time you log in). There are different reasons your service provider might have either type, but they often have the ability to change between the two, and the pool of addresses they draw from may be different for each group. That means that if your address is in a blocked range you might be able to get out of that blocked range by asking them to switch, but that's no guarantee. Theoretically you can do the same thing by switching to a public DNS, which routes your traffic. Google has one. Here is a link to how to try it out, although depending on how proficient you are with your computer it may or may not be a good option.
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using?hl=en
The last option is you can access the site with a Tor Browser. It's basically a way to access the site anonymously so the site doesn't know where you are logging in from. Tor Browsers rely on routing through privacy friendly IPs, and all that bouncing around can make them kind of slow.
I'll post a link to those .rar files ones I get my Dropbox issue sorted out.
