Looking for tips on getting better using the tremolo technique, specifically having trouble on draw notes.

Do you mean using the throat, or hands or what?

Sorry, should have said. I meant throat.

Thanks

Ok, I am a new and poor player so take the following with a grain of salt.
Most of my time has been spent on the chrome lately, I'm just getting back into trying blues etc... I never even tried throat tremolo and was unhappy with tonge action unless I was just trying for some obvious stacatto.
Anyway I was playing some long slow notes on a low D harp, laying on my back, and just spacing out. I all of a sudden heard a sweet subtle tremolo and could feel it in my throat.
I still have no idea how I did it, but could feel it and make it start and stop. I just kept at it. Now I can do it standing up too, and on higher notes. Inhale notes I do not have consistently yet, but blow is getting there. Like many subtle physical techniques, feeling it the first time can really help take away the intimidation and "I dont know how they do that " thoughts that slow down learning.
I still do not know exactly what muscles I am using or how to tell someone else how to do it, but for me the trick was being very relaxed and just letting it happen, not making it happen.
Get it once, feel it, then repeat until the spouse threatens to kill you for blowing the same note for half an hour. Lol.
Good luck! If you find a better or easier to explain method, please share it!
I think I will go for a walk and try to play some tremolo for the alligators and turtles, maybe they won't mind as much as the humans.
