Some people tape the end holes on their cover plates- inside or out, what kind of tape.

Duct tape I think is popular, because the colour sort of matches and it's sticky and strong.

Interesting. I replied to this question but disappeared. I wonder if that reply will reappear. Ive had a few disappear from beginner forum and never reappear.
Anyway, silver duct tape I think is popular choice for the job

Hmm...this thread says 3 posts...it'll say 4 posts now...so it's counting the one I posted which was spam-netted...but Nate hasn't reinstated that post...I should find those other threads and see if the post count reconciles to the posts on display...

Why would you want to do this? I thought venting the sides made the harp louder? Would closing it all off and blocking not make the sound rubbish?

Some people think it's better for playing amplified with a cupped mic. Hohner even produce a version of the Rocket with closed covers like the sp20, which they call the Rocket Amp

It's also better for me to hear how affective my hand cupping is working.

Also by having side cents blocked I am more likely able to play with my hearing aides, side vents cause feedback when wearing them.
