An observation that in the piece "Bombay Stroll" by Aki Kumar (posted on the main forum) he gets a very attractive and characteristic smooth/crunchy sound. While not surrounding the mic and harp completely - the top end of the harp is clearly visible and open throughout. This is at odds with what I have read elsewhere that to get best sound you need to have a complete seal.

I don't want to discuss the pros/cons and theory particularly. Just noting this clear observation.
