I have recently been playing alot of recessed plate harps. Specifically the Special 20 and Session Steel. I can really get a good sound out of them while playing TB that i just can't get with the regular harps. And they are 100 times more comfortable to play. And the SP20 is so small i can get a real good cup around it. So much so that you can barely hear it when i play it at night.

I seem to have some kind of resistance to playing them however. I'm not sure what it is. They don't quite have the same sound as a solid comb harp. Maybe a solid blue moon comb could fix this. But i dont think that's the whole problem. I think in the back of my head I've always seen them as not as legit as the sandwich style. So i think this may be why i have not been playing them the whole time.

I don't really know what the point of writing this was, but .... yea. So anyway I'm Diggin the plastic Harps.

I wish the custom combs werent so expensive.

I know what you mean, there is something aesthetically pleasing about the simplicity of traditional sandwich style. There also seems to be more scope for customising and personalising. Everyone seems to get more fun out of that style of harp.

Yea the MB is more fun for sure. But there s something to be said for taking a sp20, open the covers and gap it, and it's set. Simple.

The Session Steel is such a good harp. I have no idea why i stopped paying 'em.
For the price you can't beat em.
Ide much rather spend the money on a SS than a MB Deluxe.
