Picking up on that Dani and Will Wilde piece on the main forum, it's a great example of a certain kind of 3rd position playing. Funky, sharp, rhythmic single notes phrases largely bases around that middle octave. Plenty to learn from this.

Check out the little move at about 18s. Classic. Epic even. Starting on the 2nd beat of the bar. That's my phrase for today.

3rd position is like buses - nothing for ages, then two at once. Again from 'over there....'

This time there's some more major-scale low-end magic, e.g. right at the start. What I like about it especially is that you can legitimately use the 3D, unbent. I think it's the 6th scale degree (like 5B in crossharp), that right? It's a nice sounding note.

It's this kind of repetition vs variation I like.
