Someone posted the Georgia Whistle Stop audio a few weeks ago and I loved it! Since then I have been trying to "master" it but I have come to the conclusion that I have bitten off too much too soon since I have been playing now for about a month. Does anyone agree with this or am I just copping out?

I can play the notes, but holy hell, it is very difficult to play it with any sense of what it should sound like. Thanks in advance for any opinions on this subject.

Sorry Mrjoeyman, I don’t know the piece and either I didn’t read the post or I didn’t follow the link so I don’t know what you mean. I tried searching for Georgia Whistle Stop but I just get things related to that fried tomatoes movie.
Can you point me to it?

If you are trying to play what I think you are, some call a fox chase, then yeah that's not really for beginners, though it would be pretty cool to start with.

"The Old Grey Whistle Test Theme" Sorry I'm such a noob I can't even get the name right, lol. It appears that it was a show of some sort at one time. Yes, Flbl the "Stone Fox Chase".

Listen to it here

A show of some sort??? Ha ha it was THE live music show in the UK for years and years.

This tune was ingrained into our minds - those of us of a certain age anyway. And it was a great incentive to learn how to bend. So yes, in a way it's a great beginner's tune! This beginner anyway.

It's by some session musicians under the name Area Code 615, included the great Charlie McCoy on harp. Of course, without the Internet, no one here knew that then it was just the OGWT theme tune, with the visuals of a man kicking a star. And we only knew the first bit.
