Marine band cross over advertised that they use Bamboo and not regular wood and that it was water resistant . That why I spent money on this expensive harmonica . I though I could just wash the whole thing in water like plastic special 20 but when I contacted Hohner they replied my email with the following
======= Quote=== Thank you for your email. You can clean the reed plates with water but not the comb.
If you cleanse the comb with water it could be that comb swell out.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen With best regards i.A. Gabriele Hand - Service Manager & Trainer -

What the hell ? $£%^$^$^
Also the harmonica sharp edge today cut my finger :)
Wasted my money ...

Be happy it didn't cut your lip, like my last MB did. Suzuki, and Seydel both make high quality harps, and have better quality control.

It’s water resistant; still not a good idea to soak it though. I’ve washed many with water. No problem. But I don’t soak them and I do dry them off straight after. Btw, I think it’s best to disassemble sp20 Prior to washing also. Reed plates and covers can be sharp. With brass parts it’s quite easy to smooth them with sandpaper. I must disagree with the statement that Seydel have better qc than Hohner. The very worst examples I’ve seen of poor quality in ‘quality’ harps have been in harps from Seydel.

I washed 3 bamboo combs today. I scrubbed them with a brush dipped in water and a few drops of dish soap, then I rinsed them under the tap. After that I dried them with paper towel.
