Hi i'm a Harmonica player since 13- 1963 My dad Was a Diatonic and Chromatic player learning When he was 15 A few years later in WW II he played at sea in the lonely hours. He Played to Benny Goodman and Glen Miller T-Bone Walker Albums at Home and enjoyed the Harmonicats, Harmonica Slim, Larry Adler and Toots .
It was around 1963 We heard lil' Stevie Wonder Fingertips and he bought me my first 10 hole Chromatic in C thus I began learning the instrument with His guidance. Later we both bonded on the Charlie McCoy Style and learned a lot together. Then was Musselwhite,Butterfield Who led us to the Sonny Boys 1&2 and Big and Little Walter, George Smith , on and on These harmonica Greats inspire me to this day. Of course many great new players have emerged since then owing a lot to the early players ,taking the ball and running with great innovative strides. Myself , I consider to be an all around Harmonica player of many styles and genres Jazz , Blues Country Folk, Mostly an Accompanist I'm not big on solos, but playing it as a rhythm instrument and ambient icing on the cake stuff. I really get off on Vocalists and parrot the lyrics between them. I got lots of harmonica heroes, too many to mention . They all offer me a key to this great harmonica highway I'm on. I just love the sound this little instrument is capable of. Rick BeauSoleil A.K.A. r!bo.
