I have recently built some beautiful custom Pre-War Marine Bands for some customers. I really enjoying creating these things. They come out so nice and they play amazingly well. I never quite got it when people talked about Pre-War Marine Bands but now that I have played on them I know what all the hoopla is about. These things are awesome! This one is already spoken for but if you are interested I can build you one for $175 to $250 depending on the comb (wood, Corian, Aluminum or Brass) and the key. C's and G's are the most commonly found Pre-Wars. The others are much harder to find.
Click on the picture and it will take you to an album on PhotoBucket where you can see more pictures.

I've got a solo tuned Seydel Saxony hands free chromatic and ergonomic neck rack in stock ready to ship thanks to a customer cancelling their order. If interested you can just go through the website and place an order as normal for the Saxony HFC solo tuned and ENR and it will ship immediately. Normally they are made on a per order basis with a lead time, so here's the chance to get one without the wait.
MP - That is correct. You would get everything listed, and yes, it is a good deal - at least I think so. The assembled harps I have been offering on eBay are a preview of what I have been working on.
I will soon (as in today hopefully) be launching my revamped website. The concept is fairly simple but unique. I will be offering visitors the opportunity to purchase products a la carte - combs, powder coated cover plates or reed plates - or you can order all the components necessary to build a complete harmonica, including screws. I can ship the parts as a do-it-yourself kit or for a $10 assembly charge I will build the harp for you prior to shipping.
I'm pretty excited about it. It has been a lot of work getting everything ready for launch. With 12 keys, 6 models to choose from, 20 different comb options and 8 different cover plate options there are over 10,000 different combinations possible.
I have a deal on N.O.S. Marine Bands from the 60's. Most of these look like they were made last week. There are a few that slight surface rust on the coverplates. I'm not going to sell those to anyone. I'll keep them for my own use. The harps I am selling are perfect and most of the boxes are perfect also! I'm selling these for $25 apiece plus $5 shipping and $1 shipping for every additional harp. I have Ab A Bb Db D Eb E and F. I also have some old 364's G and C. That's cheaper then a new one!

I bought this on eBay couple of weeks ago to try (used) and it is a very nice harmonica but just doesn't do it for me. The seydel logo has worn off the comb and there is a tiny ding on one corner (see pictures) but apart from that it is in good condition and comes with the box and cloth (but not the pouch).
£35 including shipping in the UK
will be well sanitised before shipping!

I forgot to mention That I can customize the NOS Marine Bands for $75. What that intails is: Sanding the comb and draw reedplate flat, seal the comb, reshaping the reeds, gapping and tuning. The tuning is actually more acurate on these harps than new Marine Bands. So I really don't do much other than check the tuning and make slight adjustments.
Beginners Special: Decent Harps in C to start with at good prices.
Sedyel Nobel $85 Blues Session Std. $24 Delta Frost SOLD Suzuki Bluesmaster SOLD Manji SOLD
All except the Noble are VERY lightly played, maybe 15 minutes but probably not that much. The Noble has been used, not abused, a bit but I can't get used to the matt covers---am only selling to get a 1847 Silver. The Delta Frost is not that cheap, but it is on hand and, unlike Bushman, I WILL ship it out quickly. It is probably the best of these to start out with.
Shipping $3/Harp $5 for 3--combine with my other ads. PayPal preferred.

Blues Harp in "A" (w/sealed comb) Todd Parrott sold me this harp, and offered to "adjust" it. He clearly stated that he is not a customizer, but could make it play better before he sent it to me. He dang sure did!!! This is the best deal on the Internet for a very nice playing harp. $35 w/$3 ship
Seydel 1847 std. in "D" Another Jon Harl beauty. I just like lower harps and C is about as high as I care for. Were I to want a D harp, this would be the one. It plays as well as I can imagine a harp to play. Fantastic. I have to remember that I am using this harp to play it as easy as it requires. Incredibly fast and responsive. New--$175+backlog time. $145 w/paid Priority Mail. $160 with Hetrick Platinum Corian Comb (comp not installed)
Seydel Solist Pro in "G" Elk River Harmonicas I paid $180 + $5 shipping + a Reynolds Black Acrylic Comb + 4 (edited so as to correct to 7 months) months wait time. This was to be a very nice harp from the customizer. I have NOT PLAYED IT SINCE I RECIEVED IT. You be the judge. It should be a very nice harp. It is available for you to find out how nice it is for $145 w/paid Priority Mail shipping and sudden shipment. The only thing wrong with this harp that I know of is that, for some reason, my name got engraved on the top cover plate.
For all of the above harps: PayPal required. USA, in fact lower 48, only. 5 day trial period from USPS confirmation of delivery---you clean and pay return ride, I'll refund via PayPal.

Marine Band in "LoF" Pretty Winewood Dymond comb. Limit 7 (7 Limit?) tuning Covers opened up and invisibly modified to prevent low tuned reed rattles. OK, look and you can see it, BUT THEY ARE NICE. I told Mike not to worry about overblow set-up, just make it the best stock playing MB possible. He said you can the important OB's in the middle and most of the other ones. I don't know. It does anything ANY stock harp I have does a LOT easier and quicker than any of the 1847's that I have. I have described this harp to be one of the highest quality devices of any sort that have ever been created by human hands----and I stand by that statement. I have failed in my attempts to describe how nice it is. IT is between a Quicksilver Level 2&3. Which places it at between $150-$205 + build time--NEW. I will take $145 for this one and ship it immediately with paid Priority Mail shipping.
PayPal or certified funds only. Lower US 48 only.
7 day trial period, you clean, disinfect and return in the same perfect condition, with return postage paid, and I will refund your money.

I have a couple of "prototype" harps for sale. Both harps are over 90% complete....I haven't spent much time with tuning them...and would ship withing one month (in fairness to my other builds reaching deadline).
1 - Golden Melody Key of C on a Corian Comb (full overbend setup with your choice of tuning) - $220
This harp is very unique in that there is a level of modification beyond my Level 3 harps that is extremely time consuming. It is impractical for me to offer this on a regular basis at current price points, but I am on the cusp of finding a way to speed this procedure up. The harp was built as a final draft and is in excellent shape. The coverplates have also been modified to enhance performance. This is like a Level 3+ harp. ;)
2 - Marine Band Low D (blues set-up with your choice of tuning) - SOLD
This harp has a sealed pearwood comb, conical bottom coverplate, and has been converted to screws. The reed profiling is the same as the above harp, but the gaps are wider and it is not optimized for overbending. The plates are sanded, and the covers are opened up, but the reed slots are not modified.
I, unfortunately, have to support family emergency out of state and will be posting some extra harps and gear this week to hopefully help fund some of the support. I shipped a bunch of harps last week and have room for a few more orders with a 2-3 month lead time, although I do not currently have extra Sjoeberg combs in stock. I do have several comb options on both Hohner and Seydel 1847 options, though, and can get those immediately.
***Just added***
Level 2 Golden Melody in B - $150...tuned to 442 ET...would need a week or two to ship.
With any of these, if I miss the shipping deadline, I would totally cancel the order and refund the money. I am just a bit worried I'll have to fly out of state for a few days as early as tomorrow to help handle the situation.
Thanks!
***I am also willing to do a tune-up on the Low F mandowhacker posted for sale for the cost of shipping to and from me. This would include cleaning, disenfecting, and tuning.
EDIT: Just to clarify on the C harp, as a recent thread had discussion around converting a harp to screws rather than rivets, the added mods to the GM are not converting to screws and flat sanding the blow plate. I have no interest, nor the time currently, to be doing that.
For Sale: Hohner Polyphonia No. 7 For sale: one Hohner Polyphonia No. 7, 1950s vintage, slideless chromatic harmonica, primarily used as a "glissando harp." Three octaves, covers all notes between D2 and D4. It's in near new condition. When I got it a couple of years ago, it was still wrapped in its original wax paper and I only tried it out a few times. This belonged to - and was purchased from the estate of - Ray Tankersley, who was one of Borrah Minnevitch's Harmonica Rascals back in the day. $100. For those who might not be familiar with the Polyphonia, you can hear Jason doing glissandos with one of the Polyphonias, not sure which model, on "Enlightenment" from the Done with the Devil album. By the way, I would love to see a harmonica trio cover that number. It would be so awesome. the orchestral harmonica stuff they did, with Todd on bass, Jason on chord and diatonic is the most awesomest thing I've ever heard.
This is a one-time email...just sending this out to let you know after a few years, I have been back in the studio and am going back on the road with the great Doug Deming!
We have officially joined forces for recording & touring and I'm really excited about the band as a whole. I have my own disc featuring Doug Deming which is almost finished (on a shoe-string budget), and Doug's new disc (featuring myself) is just about wrapped up. Be on the lookout for upcoming CD-RELEASE Tour Dates on the East Coast, the Midwest, and perhaps we will hit the West Coast as well!
To help finish funding my CD, I have put together some microphones (and an amp, but that just sold!!) that I have kept in my collection for use but now I NEED to get this recording done, and instead of offering people JUST a great deal on some microphones, I am offering a signed advance-copy of my CD to anyone makng any microphone order NOW

I just listed on my Microphones & More page a 1941 Astatic Model 30 Biscuit microphone with original working crystal element - the only one in my collection! All miccs are in GREAT working shape - I restoreand/or re-wire them and get them up to spec! I am also offering discounts this ONE TIME ONLY!!

Thank You for all the support and looking forward to more performances this year!!
Hi everybody, mind if I share this here? Hopefully some wise words and a bit of fun as well.
We’ll show you a serious new technique using box patterns, slides and bending as well. It’s quite tricky but the video shows you how.
We’ll also see a bit of me playing with the great bluesman Rick Payne, and the Mayor of Chipping Sodbury awarding prizes to some kids I teach.
This month’s newsletter is also great news if you like a physical book and CD instead of a download - we are offering our Sonny Terry Riffs Vol 1 at a bargain price as we ordered too many books from the printer and are running out of storage space!
I've still got my modded Epi Valve Jr. Head for sale. All Lone Wolf mods (plus a couple of others) have been done, and the tubes have been upgraded. I'll be moving at the end of the summer, and I really need to sell this amp before then, so I'm slashing the price to $150 plus shipping. This is a really great sounding amp. E-mail me at ullah @ archaeologist . com.
I have two brand new Hohner Marine Band Deluxe with black Dupont Corian combs that are ready to be customized and sold to the first buyer(s). One is in the key of G and the other is in the key of D. These are great playing harps! They'll have the full slot embossing, custom reed profiling, tip scooping and gapping for easy playability. The cost is $135.00 each.
I also have two Brand new Marine Band Crossovers with Dupont Corian combs (black) in the keys of G and Bb. They have the same customization process as the MB Deluxe. They go for $145.00 each.
Shipping is a flat $8.95 in the USA and $15.00 international.

Wanted: hi all iv recently acquired a 10 hole chromonica and now im looking for something a bit more substantial i need a 12 hole or greater. I am very poor so it must be really cheap around £30 GBP im not fussed if it looks like a big sweaty turd, aslong as it doesn't play like one.
I have a summer special running on select keys of Special 20's with next to no wait times...
Starting June 1, I will only be offering the equivalent of Level 3 custom harmonicas in either overbend or non-overbend models (with two different prices). Until then, what you see on the site is what you can order.
Level 2 harps have been "retired" at this point as my process has become more and more streamlined making it easier to offer Level 3 harps with the same turnaround (unless I am waiting on Sjoeberg combs)...
I will offer ready-to-ship Level 1 harps as I have time and post them on the site like my Summer Special with the goal of shipping in less than 4 weeks from time of order (lead time reflects final gapping and tuning to customer's taste)...
Changes are really just reflective of my real-world commitments and the effort to provide fast turnaround times. I am sticking to 2-3 months (tops) on all new Level 3 orders or I simply won't take the order at that time.
In order to do so, all Level 3 harps will have dymonwood or Corian combs of standard design. I will only accept orders for harps with Sjoeberg combs when I literally have the combs in hand.
I am going to limit repair work as well. Anyone who has ordered from me before June 1 will still be able to order whatever they want, etc.
I have a Suzuki Firebreath in A that has only had a couple of minutes on it, it's not for me. Would like to try a Seydel 1847 Classic, anyone in the UK want to trade?
I am in need of a Digitech RP155, 255, or 355 for travel. My POD HD500 is way too big to take on a plane and is attached to a an enormous Pedal Train Pro, lol.
HarpNinja: I'm guessing that is not the same as as a DigiTeck DigiVerb, Digital Reverb pedal. I have that and a multi chorus by digitech in like new condition. Also a Digitech Tube Overdrive and Digital delay. all like new. Also have them in a nice Gator zip pedal tote with electronics. ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz
Different deal, but I found a RP255 for $65, so score!
While I am on here, my custom harp page has been updated with new info on lead times, options, pricing, and combs - including DuPont™ Corian® in Black and Red as well as a PURPLE comb!
WTB HarpGear HG2 or Double Trouble in US. Might consider a HG35 if the price/condition is right. Closer to Savannah GA the better. Contact info in profile.

FS: A (way) vintage Astatic model 30, precursor of the JT-30. This guy began life in a coat of brown paint, with a brown grill. Over the past few years, I had mic tech Dave Kott paint it with Mirage automotive paint, put on a chrome grill, and install a Shure white CR element. Price is $249. I'll ship it within Europe for free; $5 gets it to the States. Paypal payment greatly preferred. I'll be happy to e-mail more pic. mnessmith AT gmail DOTT com.
