get some maguires finishing compound...i gorget the actual name, but it's a liquid you can get at an auto parts store. Wet sand with 600 grit first and use a cotton ball to rub the compound in a circular motion. You will feel it change as the compound breaks down and the shine appears...I'll post a pic of a motorcycle gas tank I did...for credibility sake.

I couldn't find the tank, but here's a tailpiece and seat I made for the same bike.

Here's the bike. All hand rubbed lacquer:

Jon,..here are some shots of Giles King's Memphis Blood I built for em ,..
For a Mirror Finish using terry cloth to rub out paint is the way to go,. You want to cut the paint,.before terrycloth they used wool pads,.now they use micro fiber an foam pads ,..takes a long time to cut ,..better for polishin,.. Make sure ya have a least 3-4 coats of clear on er !!

Jon it's called color sandin,...and ya want to do that to take out any orange peel ,...who said putting sandpaper on it sound like such a bad idea.??
I must have missed that ,..
Take a lil bowl an some dish soap & warm water ,.let your 600 set a min in the water ,.. start sandin,..
If ya break through the clear ,..keep sandin till ya all done ,..tape er back up an reshoot er with clear,..she'll look so pretty .then all ya might have to do is rub er,..
And WE all know ya like rubbin ya 'all mic's ,..LOLOLOLO
Ya did good Jon ,..don't stop now !!!

Hi Bro walk around that Auto shop and look at the car polish section you will find Polish cutting compounds for removing scratches in paint work,,it will be a two part polish tin,,tube, satchels what ever it comes in one for removing Scratches the second compound will be for Polishing to a nice new Glossy finish,,Ok i know putting sand paper all over your nice work sounds like destroying your work so give the Polish a go..

Jon ,..No !! Don't sand through the clear ,..sand just enough to make the clear smooth,.Then use the compound to bring up the shine ,..then wax with any good auto wax,..ya good to go,.
What I should have said is IF Ya do sand through the clear keep sandin the rest of the mic,..then retape er up and re-clear her,..where you broke through will leave a dull spot ,..re-clearin the mic will bring it back to life.

There you go again telling everyone about your great heist plans! You are never going to be a great criminal. You know they won't let you have a harmonica in your cell anymore!

My brother used to run a business that shipped stuff to people in prisons and basically anything they thought could be used as a weapon or thought could be used to smuggle something in was prohibited. I suppose you could smuggle it in, but that sounds painful. Maybe a tiny Puck, although that still sounds uncomfortable.

Guys in prison will grind even really small pieces of metal into a shank, so there's no way there gonna let you have a harmonica, contrary to the popular stereotype. And Rharley's right, when you're forced to live in a tiny little cell with a roomate, there's no way he's going to be happy about you blowin' harp.

They are easier to hold than a 545S. The tonality is a little different. They don't have quite the same bass response that a 545 has, but they are nice mics and can usually be picked up fairly cheaply. Mojo Buford used one when he played with Muddy Waters I seem to recall.

Here's Harpsucker using one. It's the third mic in the clip.

I can't see the vid right now, but from your description, I wonder if a volume pot might boost the bottom end a bit, the same way that a 1meg-5meg pot works on a Astatic MC element? I've also noticed this when using one of Greg's in-line volume controls on a RE10. Oh Greg...

i wet sanded it with 800grit with warm water an dish soap. i was surprised that it made it feel smooth. then i used turtle wax rubbing compound an a shammy cloth, then i used perma seal auto wax then it got like a mirror finish. its not perfect i think it could use a little more.

Put that turtle wax rubbing compound on a couple of wet cotton balls and amaze yourself. If that doesn't let you see your teeth in the gloss, you need to sand a little more.
