Hi
So on some of my harmonicas i have really nice brass screws (slotted head) for coverplates and reedplates. I ordered them about 10 years ago from Hetrick harmonicas company if i remember correctly.
Now, the company seems to not exist anymore, but maybe some of you know exact dimensions of the screws which were used? Or even better, know where i can order them?

If you have some callipers and one sample you could get the size from it, which would narrow down your search a lot.

Thanks for suggestions, from what I know reedplate screws for Marine Bands are M1.4 - metric and McMaster-Carr only has imperial ones, or at least I can't find it otherwise.
Idea with callipers would work, not sure if they precise enough to distinguish between, let’s say, M1.4 and 00-80 screw

Hettrick went out of business more like 13 years ago. The cover plate screws that they offered were made by a guy who catered to the knife handle and pistol grip industries. I got a bunch of the same screws from him too. At one time, Rockin’ Ron had them too. But the guy who made them turned into a bit of a flake and I don’t think he is in business anymore either. FWIW, I have searched high and low for fasteners comparable to those found on Hohner Crossovers or Suzuki Manjis. They are commonly called Binding Screws or Sex Bolts because there is a male and female half. They are simply not to be found at any of the places where we typically buy hardware. The only place to get them is either through Hohner, Seydel or Suzuki. That’s where I get them. FingerSinger – if you want to buy a few sets from me, just send me an email.
I buy screws and various hardware by the 1000s. I get a fair amount of stuff from China via eBay but domestically, I use MonsterBolts.com. They carry both metric and imperial. BTW, the screw size on Hohner reed plates is M1.6 X 10. The older version the Special 20 used M2.0 X !0, but when Hohner introduced the Progressive Series, they changed the screws on the Speical 20s to M1.6 X 10. Suzuki still uses the M2.0 X 10 screws on their reed plates. If you are limited, for whatever, to using imperial screws – let’s say to convert a Marine Band 1896 from nails to screws – my preference is the 1-72 X 3/8”. That is a really nice screw.
