@chromaticblues MB and Special 20 with some reed work and covers opened for $40. What is the charge if you furnish the new harp?

His profit is going to be more than $7. The labor rate seems reasonable assuming he is getting the harps new for less than retail.

I can make them unaffordable if you wish)

Anyone wants a limited edition 1847 for 750€ ? (already customized, that's the same price you get a "stock" one) :))) Silver reedplates and covers, bubingo comb, and stuff.

P.S. I'm serious about the offer)

Richard Sleigh wrote in his bio.

"When i got one that was particularly nice, i did everything i could to make it last, and i grieved when it died. Because there was nothing i could do about it."----------

i used to feel exactly like that. i started replaceing reeds out of neccessity.

i can extend the life of your harp indefinately. no magic, just tools and knowledge.

I have a Shaker Madcat mic that I bought a few years in hopes of recording with it, but never used it. However, I painted it red for some reason. It's a homemade paint-job, and there's a small place where the paint is chipped off. It would probably be easy to sand and repaint it, as the grill and volume switches easily unscrew, but I have no use for the mic so it isn't worth my time. Tried taking a picture of it, but my camera is awful and didn't capture the detail.

$65 - free shipping in USA

I also still have the following harps for sale:

MS Hohner Blues Harp - key of A - with a fully sealed comb. I got this from Hohner at SPAH. These are not available in stores with fully sealed combs. $30 - free shipping in the USA.

Suzuki Promaster - Eb - WITH RIVETTED REEDS, not spot welded - like new condition, but the case is discolored from age. $35 - free shipping in the USA.

If anyone else has a B-Radical in hand (not a place in line) that they feel like selling, give me a shout. I'm not willing to pay significantly over the price of a new one, but if for whatever reason you have one that isn't your cup of tea, I'd pay the new cost for a used but not abused B-Rad. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

I wrestled with posting a new thread for this, but long story short, I have tweaked my custom harmonica options. When I went public, I had no idea the demand I'd get or for what.

Well, after several months of collecting data I narrowed down what was most popular and decided to cut back to focusing on just two levels of custom work. I was actually going to cut back to just one - all or nothing - but realized that probably wouldn't make sense.

This has more to do with organization than an inability to meet deadlines (which has not been an issue at all) or feeling I am in over my head (which I am not). I am working on manufacturing the Sjoeberg combs all on my own within the year, and I am hoping that by simplifying my custom options I can free up a little bit of extra time for the combs, simplify my routine, and move towards carrying a stock of combs ready for immediate shipping.

Also, I plan on having completed harmonicas for sale through my website this summer - which would mean next to no turnaround time for the buyer. I think I have enough stock parts to start moving to this as I finish current custom orders.

Finally, since HCH is so tempting but something I cannot attend, I am willing to offer a deal to those attending. If you are FOR SURE going to be at Hill Country Harmonica this May and would like to have a Quicksilver Harmonica to bring to the event, please contact me via email (see signature or click on my username).

It sucks that HCH and SPAH always take place with dates that will not allow me to take off work. Some of you might remember me driving back and forth to SPAH in the Cities between work obligations.

****I will have a stock of Sjoeberg combs sometime next week...after completing current orders, I hope to offer some for individual sale.

Hi all,
(This is a post I put up else where & was told I should check here,so her ya go)

I have 6 new Hohner Marine Band Classics I need tuned/gaped(not sure what you wanna call it) Ive tried but to no success. (Im still new to this kind of stuff) I either open or close the gaps to much. I dont want them customized, just the reeds set right. I was wondering how much this is gonna run me too. I'd like it if someone from the North East USA were to do it,but...I'll take what I can get. I have them in the keys G through E. Seems to me only 2 or 3 reeds need to be done on each one,But,that'd be the workers call.

Thanks all,
Jimmy

Xpun3414 - A Strobe tuner is the type of tuner that Joe uses to tune harmonicas. My advice? The great Joe Spiers is offering to tune your harmonicas for you. Send them to him now! Those harmonicas will be tuned to perfection when Joe finishes with them.

For sale: Two custom Elk River Special harmonicas, keys C and/or B, corners rounded, $150 each. Made from Seydel Solists. Compromise tuning, set up for overblows on holes 1, 4,5 and 6.

While I was working at HH, I couldn't make customs, so when I started making them again last month, I had no waiting list, so I started a few extra. Here's two of them.

MUCH BETTER FOR HARP.
A SM58 HAS A STRONG POWERFUL SOUND WITH A VERY GOOD FEEDBACK THRESHOLD BUT WAY TO CLEAN FOR HARP SO YOU WILL DEPEND ON THE AMP FOR MOST OF YOUR DISTORTION.

SAME WITH A SM57 BUT A TIGHTER SOUND.

545 IS CLOSER TO A STOCK 515 WITH A LITTLE MORE PUNCH.

NOW YOUR 515 REVOLUTION SUPERBOOST PUTS THEM ALL TO SHAME,CREATING IN MY OPINION AND 43 YEARS AS A HARP PLAYER THE BEST MIC FOR PLAYING BLUES,BLUES-ROCK AND ROCK-N-ROLL.

THE STOCK 515 IS A GREAT HARP MIC IN IT'S STOCK FORM,TALKIN 68-77 MODELS, BUT WITH YOUR SUPERBOOST IT BECOMES TIGHTER,MORE COMPRESSED, FOCUSED ON MID AND LOW-MID FREQUENCYS, A STRONGER FEEDBACK THRESHOLD, CLEAN AND POWERFUL BUT WITH A WANTED MILD DISTORTION.

I PUT AWAY ALL MY BULLETS,MY BELOVED EV-634s AND ALL MY OTHER MICS

I will not take pre-orders on these, but a stock of about 50 GM Sjoeberg combs will be shipped at the same time. Combs will be available through my website at that time (minus a dozen or so I need for harps I am building). In another week or two I'll have a stock of MB combs as well.

Thanks!

Three guitars for sale, all solid wood...

2 Washburn WD300SW w/ Hard Cases, Solid Spruce Top, Solid Sapele (African Mahogany) Back and Sides

Both of these gits are louder than my Martin HD-28... Do they sound as good as the Martin, no. But they are damn close. Side by side the Martin is a little more even through the register and just a little bit more heavy on the bass. Recording them it is hard to tell the difference.

Washburn D200SW w/ Hard Case, Solid Spruce Top, Solid Rosewood Back and Sides.

Email me if interested. shbamac at yahoo.com
